~ History, Mystery & Magic ~ Release your inner Witch
This course is designed for anyone with a calling towards the 'Old Ways'.
From Wands to Witch trials, Herbs to Healing this 6 week programme will give you the basic knowledge
needed to release your inner Witch.
This course will be delivered over a 12 month period beginning on 1st Feb 2024 when all course materials will be available. Q&A sessions will be held via Zoom on a monthly basis.
Students will be required to attend quarterly gatherings in March, June, September and December.
What you'll learn
Part 1 - The History of Witchcraft
-
Ancient Magic - we begin when records began around 2 BCE and move through ancient history to 1324 AD learning about 3 key icons of Ancient Magic - Medusa, The Witch of Endor and Petronella de Meath. You will also learn about Celtic magic and tribal traditions.

Folk Magic - we will then delve into the ways of the 'cunning folk' by exploring the role of wise folk, healers and herbalists between the 14th - 16th century in England, discovering lost knowledge and much forgotten remedies.

The Witch Trials - The 17th century was a dark time for Witches. We will examine the theories and beliefs of King James I, read key sections of Malleus Maleficarum 'The Hammer of Witches', learn more about The Witchfinder General Matthew Hopkins, the Scottish Witch trials, the Salem Witch trials and the end of Witch hunting.
Part 2 - Practical Magic

Tools of the Craft - Understanding athames, wands, cauldrons and staffs and how to effectively work with them.

The Elements - Working with the powers of Earth, Air, Fire and Water to enhance your magical potential. Includes Cloud Casting.

Altars & Circles - Crafting sacred spaces for personal rituals and group gatherings.

Spell Casting - Learn the power of intention and manifestation to develop your own personal method of casting spells. You will learn to focus deeply within yourself, identifying your true desires and building the ability to cast effectively.

Green Witchcraft - Alignment with nature to harness the power of trees and herbs in your magical work.

Dark Magic & Protection - examining Occult practises, curses, hexes and how to protect yourself and loved ones from attack.
Gatherings
As part of the programme there will be 2 in-person gatherings.
Dates and locations will be given with plenty of notice.
Cost
The total cost of joining the programme, including all 8 units, course materials, workshops, gatherings (with food and refreshments) and ongoing 121 support with Jayne is £249 per person.

Requirements

No prior knowledge of The Craft is required, all we ask is that every Apprentice comes with an open heart and a willingness to learn.

Access to a laptop, desktop computer or tablet is required to enable you to get the most from the live gatherings, which take place via Zoom each month (subscription to Zoom is not necessary).

your tutor
Jayne Harris is a qualified Master Herbalist and lifelong solitary practitioner of the Craft.
She holds degrees in Psychology and Sociology and is currently completing her MA in Western Esotericism.
Throughout your course Jayne will deliver monthly Q&A sessions and be available throughout to offer 121 support. She will also host in-person gatherings for students, giving an opportunity to practise what you've learnt so far in a safe, like minded environment.
