Join us as we embark upon a unique experience onboard one of the Severn Valley Railways
historic steam trains.
Leaving from the SVR's Kidderminster station at 5pm you will be seated in our exclusive carriage for the 1 hour journey to Bridgnorth. As we travel in style you will receive complimentary tea/coffee as you enjoy the beautiful scenery passing through Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade.
Immerse yourself in the past as the steam train gently rocks you back in time.
Once we arrive at Bridgnorth station we will have private use of the refreshment room for a hot buffet supper, which will set us up nicely for the ghost walk that follows!
After your food and as the sun begins to set Jayne will lead you out of the station and into the night, across the old bridge towards the castle ruins, where she will reveal some of the towns very best ghost sightings and hidden history. You will pass by churches and through cobbled alleyways making your way towards the 17th century, oak framed town hall to hear about it's own ghostly connections.
Did you know Bridgnorth has a phantom lady in black? What about the ghostly monk? all will be revealed!
Will the many spirits of old Bridgnorth be waiting around the corner?
At roughly 8.30pm you will return to Bridgnorth station just in time to steady your nerves and warm yourself with a drink infront of the fire at the Railwaymans Arms before re-boarding the train at 9pm.
On the return journey Jayne will regale you with more tales of ghostly goings-on connected to the villages you will pass through and there are even a few stories connected to the Severn Valley Railway itself!
Will you hold your nerve as we pass beneath the tunnel where so many poor souls have lost their lives?
You will arrive back at Kidderminster station at 10pm...
we apologise but we cannot guarantee that you won't have nightmares!
Please Note: all SVR trains have onboard toilets and are wheelchair accessible, however some parts of the Bridgnorth ghost walk will involve steep steps so is not suitable for wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties.
